1. Start cleaning the kennel by taking the animals outside. Place them in a temporary enclosure or fenced yard.
2. Remove anything that can be removed from the kennel. This includes feeders and water bowls, bedding, and toys. It's best to be able to get to as much area as possible.
3. Once you have gotten rid of all removable items, remove all of the doo-doo from the kennel and sweep away dust, dirt and hair.
4. Hose and rinse the place down. You'll want to remove any dust and dirt left over from the last step. If there is still some dirt left after spraying, you may want to repeat this step. If you want, you can also use boiling water during the cleaning process to eliminate mites.
5. Apply a disinfectant cleaner. You can apply it in foam or liquid form. The liquid form can be applied with a rag and bucket, a multipurpose compressed air sprayer, or a pressure washer with a soap dispenser. The foam can be applied using a foam dispenser or with an industrial brush and foam dispenser all in one. Note: It's not necessary to cover every inch of the kennel, as scrubbing will spread the disinfectant.
6. Use a stiff bristle brush to scrub from ceiling to floor on all of the walls and doors. Repeat the process for each kennel and don't forget to clean the hallways too.
7. Let the sanitizer sit for at least 10 minutes or more.
8. Rinse all surfaces with water. You are starting at the top of each wall and kennel working your way down to the floor. Repeat the rinse and finish by rinsing the walkways.
9. Use a squeegee to remove water from the path through the kennel doors and into the kennel. Starting at the first kennel, use a squeegee to move water from each floor toward the drain. Allow kennel floors to air dry. Repeat this process until you have finished all of the sections.
10. Once dry, place the food and water bowls, bedding and toys back in the kennel. You're done now and the kennel is clean and ready for use😀
